Malygos the Spell Weaver, Lord of Magic, Steward of Magic, Master of the Blue Dragonflight, Aspect of the blue dragons, granted his power by the Titan Norgannon. After being driven to the point of insanity with his confrontation with Neltharion, Malygos came back to his sense on exposure to the Nether dragons from outlands. Looking with now clear eyes before him he saw a world abusing the powers of magic, a world that he remembered the once proud highborn elf’s had summoned the Burning Legion to before. In his madness and grief he set out to destroy all magic users and once again bring control over the use of magic. Opposing him the Kirin Tor and the Red Dragon flight - keeping Alexstrasza's promise to Rhonin to fight for the cause of the humans. Somnia at the very bequest of Alexstrasza's were to oppose Malygos in direct combat in his own domain. Although the domain was nightmarish in reality the raiders of Somnia were able to battle Malygos and his students, then with the aid of the drakes of the Red Dragon flight were able to engage Malygos in aerial combat and defeat him, the first aspect to die. This was a very sad day, not only for dragon kind, but for all of the living creatures of Azeroth. With the loss of Malygos we have lost one of our most thoughtful, intelligent and ancient friends. Magic is now without its guardian. Let us hope that this was a wise decision in the coming years, a storm is still brewing on the horizon and now we are without one of our most powerful defenders. |

As the brave members of Somnia fought their way through the horrors and abominations that confronted them in Naxxaramas they finally stumbled upon the command chamber from which the armies below in the carrion fields were controlled. To their horror before them stood the arch lich Kel’Thuzad, the principal agent and servant of the lich king, the entity responsible for the spreading of the plague throughout Lorderon. Yet how had he survived his previous defeat in the Eastern Plague lands? His phylactery having being given into the care of the Argent Dawn must have been secreted away by false members of the brotherhood for him to rise once again.
But it mattered not for here the score could be settled for all the lives taken and destroyed and the misery this once mortal man had inflicted in his acts of depravity.
Though bombarded with numbing cold frost and seeing their very friends turn against them under the will of the Arch Lich, Somnia prevailed and finally put an end to the battle of Naxxaramas, yet no phylactery could be found in the chamber, who then held the phylactery and would Kel’Thuzad rise again? |
