A cold winter chill emanated from north throughout the kingdoms of Azeroth and Kalimdor this autumn. The winter storms came early, as shadows from the north swept across the land stealing the crisp autumn air and replacing it with a numbing cold. A new threat to the very existence of all life was awaking from its slumber - Arthas had awoken. Looking upon our ranks the toll of the journey through Outlands was fully realised, many brave and honourable members had fallen each loss diminishing the whole. Somnia sounded the battle horn calling upon all those who deemed themselves worth to serve in Somnia's ranks to answer that very call. To my brothers in arms the battle crys went up ‘Somnia once again shall rise to this challenge as it had done in Outland, defeating all who stood before them. So would they again stand before their enemies giving no ground, no quarter, no respite, and no mercy in the conflicts ahead, all who threatened the existence of the Alliance, shall fall! To war we ride! Once again our doors are open for raiders to join us. Make an application and show us your Strength. |

Somnia is a PvE orianted guild on Laughing Skull EU. Somnia's journey began pre-TBC when a small group of friends from Middlesbrough decided to make a small friendly guild together. The journey took that small group to meet like-minded players, expanding into a thriving mix of personalities and cultures across europe. Somnia went on to establish itself as a highly successfull and organised end-game raiding guild.
The aim of our guild is to act as a hub for like-minded players who are friendly, funny, sociable, respectful and who don't take their gaming too seriously. Although we have no problem with elitism, if it comes with a bad attitude then this place is not right for you. Above all, we are here for fun.
We're focused on PvE raiding and we intend to pursue it without burdening, forcing or being hardcore. From past experiences, this suits our lifestyles and attitude most towards gaming. Players won't be forced to spec a certain way unless they are serious about raiding and we will work hard on ensuring balanced raid-invites and loot distribution. Although we have a casual attitude about raiding, we intend to do a good job of it. Somnia has a single guild master who is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the guild in all aspects. The Guild Master is one of the very founding, loyal and dedicated members: Marble.
Following is a list of our class leaders and officers, who will be responsible for the following things:
- Managing recruitment for their class. - Dealing with queries and handling disputes involving class members - Representative of their class to non-guildies - Set a good example for class members.
Class leading is a duty and responsibility... NOT a privilege, so the position is not abused.
Class Leader list:
Druid: Regenerate Rogue: Beccan Warrior: Schnaps Mage: Zaranah Paladin: Damaf Warlock: Extremka Hunter: Priest: Marble / Milli Shaman: Nuhualpilli Death Knight: |

Malygos the Spell Weaver, Lord of Magic, Steward of Magic, Master of the Blue Dragonflight, Aspect of the blue dragons, granted his power by the Titan Norgannon. After being driven to the point of insanity with his confrontation with Neltharion, Malygos came back to his sense on exposure to the Nether dragons from outlands. Looking with now clear eyes before him he saw a world abusing the powers of magic, a world that he remembered the once proud highborn elf’s had summoned the Burning Legion to before. In his madness and grief he set out to destroy all magic users and once again bring control over the use of magic. Opposing him the Kirin Tor and the Red Dragon flight - keeping Alexstrasza's promise to Rhonin to fight for the cause of the humans. Somnia at the very bequest of Alexstrasza's were to oppose Malygos in direct combat in his own domain. Although the domain was nightmarish in reality the raiders of Somnia were able to battle Malygos and his students, then with the aid of the drakes of the Red Dragon flight were able to engage Malygos in aerial combat and defeat him, the first aspect to die. This was a very sad day, not only for dragon kind, but for all of the living creatures of Azeroth. With the loss of Malygos we have lost one of our most thoughtful, intelligent and ancient friends. Magic is now without its guardian. Let us hope that this was a wise decision in the coming years, a storm is still brewing on the horizon and now we are without one of our most powerful defenders. |
